Writing Process, yo

The Complexity That is A Writing Process, my original work from my wordpress page here

For me, writing is a very straightforward process that I am still in the process of revising and updating. It seems almost every week there is something new to add to the process and one more thing to improve on it, whether I like it or not. I am very stubborn, so it is hard for me to add new things into the ritual that I have been doing for years now, but if I find a new step very helpful or crucial, I will go out of my way to add it into the process that I have down.
My first draft is always short, just wanting to get the ideas I am going to expand on written down in some shape or form, along with making notes on it to revisit each section. If for some reason I am hit with a stroke of genius while I am typing, I immediately go back to the section my new idea pertains to or create a new one so that I don’t lose my newest idea.
After finishing the rough draft and I have stepped away from the paper for a while and focused my brain on something else, I revisit the paper with a fresh attitude. I start off by just going over grammar and spelling, giving my mind a chance to get back into the English paper mood. While going over the simpler things, I begin to gather ideas in my mind about what to expand and improve on as I am moving through everything. Once my quick revision is completed, I dive into just typing everything I had wanted to get down, not caring about how I word it at that second. Once finished, I go back through and correct and review everything that I have just written down.
Shortly after I finish my revised draft and having it reviewed, I make one more sweep through for grammar and such, and then leave it alone until the next peer review sessions. I take special note of what my partner is saying during the reviews, and make sure to revisit every single point that they make in their claims, whether or not I agree with them. Pretty much every single time I agree with what they have said, and make immediate revisions to the paper. After visiting the problem areas and I am content with my paper, I save the final version and that is that for this paper.
